original full vocal version of this soulful track, which originally appeared
as a 3 minute edit on Moodymannís Mahogani Music imprint. A classic beat and
Rhodes chords warm up the track before SKYíS voice graces and glides over
this track with command and control demanding attention. Laying a spoken word
poem and song reminiscent of a whiskey soaked jazz singer from the early 50ís.
This is a voice you will remember. Original version received constant play
at this years Detroit Movement fest as well as an overwhelming response to
a live performance of the song by Alton & Sky on the Movement stage itself.
Sweet Abraham returns to DSR and drops a
signature deep, crunchy, funky remix that puts the Sweet in Abraham. “My
Life” rounds out this single in the “Detroit Beatdown” style,
which has been getting mad press and love from the tastemakers.
